On Saturday 18th January 2014, the representatives of Great Britain Deaf Men’s football (GBDMF) and Great Britain Deaf Women’s Football (GBDWF) ratified a merger to establish one football body, Great Britain Deaf Football (GBDF), to take overall responsibility of managing all of Great Britain’s men and women teams.

The new Board of Great Britain Deaf Football (GBDF) is as follows:
Chair                   -     Martin Willis
Vice Chair           -     Chris Beech
Board Member    -     Sharon Hirshman

They are joined by the following members on the Executive Committee:
Administrator  -        Susan McKeown
Treasurer         -        Peter Nicholson

The Management of the Men and Women teams will remain unchanged as follows:
Men Team Manager                    Phil Gardner
Women Head Coach                   Chris Gwynn
Men Over 35 Team Manager      Eddie Pollard
Men U23 Team Manager            To be Appointed

Having a single Great Britain Deaf Football organisation will enable all of the teams to work together to make better use of resources, share ideas and develop Great Britain Deaf Football further. It will also enable Great Britain Deaf Football to have one united voice to further the aims and achievements of Deaf football in Great Britain.

A new and exciting era beckons for Great Britain Deaf Football, we will be looking to maintain, develop and forge robust partnerships with all relevant bodies relating to Deaf football to ensure that Great Britain Deaf Football is in position to compete against the best for years to come.
