Remembrance weekend access to an on-line data base to research family history

This Remembrance Day, find your family’s heroes with FREE access to the best resource for tracing your ancestors on home and foreign soil.

• Leading family history website Findmypast.co.uk announces that its historical records and newspaper pages now number over two billion, making the site the best resource for tracing your ancestors overseas.
• To commemorate Remembrance Day, Findmypast is allowing FREE access to their billions of historical records this weekend. Findmypast has the world’s most comprehensive collection of military service records as well as records from every major UK engagement, enlistment records from WWII
• The Findmypast archive also includes the world’s largest online collection of Irish records as well as UK parish records from the 1500s onwards, UK military records dating back to the 1650s and fascinating newly digitised wills.
• The website now has over 9 million historical local newspaper pages from the UK and Ireland


Today, leading family history website Findmypast.co.uk announces a new milestone: the site now has over two billion records from around the world. Importantly, ahead of Remembrance Day, Findmypast now has the most comprehensive online collection of military service records. Their extensive military collection also includes over two million records of soldiers and sailors, and millions of records of those who enlisted to fight in the world wars. In their huge archive, they also have fascinating records that tell how the plastic surgery industry was born on the battlefields of Flanders due to the injuries sustained by troops in World War One.

To properly commemorate Remembrance Day, Findmypast will be making their global records available for FREE all weekend to make it easy for people to discover the heroes in their own families. They are making their collection of family history records from around the world (including the most comprehensive collection of Irish records available online) available for FREE from Friday 7th November to Monday 10th November.
