DSPY 2014 Awards
Deaf Sports Personality of the Year Awards 2014
Press Release – DSPY2014 Awards
The time has flown by so quickly since the last DSPY awards in 2012! The importance of DSPY awards is very much on the rise, as for many years, there has been no formal recognition for the deaf/hard of hearing athletes for their sporting achievements.
DSPY would like to announce that the next DSPY awards will take place on Saturday 29th November 2014 at Ricoh Arena, Coventry. It will be the biggest sporting night of the year since DSPY2012. Ricoh Area is the perfect place to ensure your night is an event to remember and will continue every two years.
Lots of sports events have happened so far this year with such highlights as Gerry Hughes sailing around the world, Team Great Britain clinched five Deaflympics medals, England Golfers won the European Deaf Championships, England Cricket won all matches against South Africa and many trophies won for the National Deaf Championships. There will be more sporting events in 2014 to win medals/trophies i.e. European and World Deaf Championships.
Looking for Volunteering Roles for DSPY2014 project will be advertised in the next few weeks and more details on DSPY2014 Awards will be announced in March 2014.
DSPY will look into sourcing more business and organisations to get involved within the next few months. Please feel free to approach us to offer your skills or suggestions to liaise with an appropriate person.
